Psalm 26:11-12 “But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregation will I bless the LORD.”

Stepping and Standing

Imagine getting on a bus or plane to return home, only to find out that you got on the wrong one! While two planes from the same airline may look similar, they could be heading for opposite ends of the country (or beyond)! Two buses may both say “Greyhound” on the side, but Amarillo, Texas, is completely different than Manhattan, New York. You’ll not end up at the right place if you do not have the right path.

In the same way, clarity before God gives us confidence for life. When I have a clear conscience before God, I have a confidence for life that can come no other way. It is not a matter of confidence in my ability; it is a matter of my obedience to God!

The psalmist said in Psalm 26, “I will walk . . . my foot standeth. . . .” He was confident about his future because of where he was standing today. Where you step today determines where you stand tomorrow. If you step on the right road, you will end up in the right place! If you step onto the right airplane, you will arrive at the right destination.

You may not be where you want to be spiritually, but if you will take a step in the right direction, you will be one step closer than you were! Your kids may not be where they ought to be, but if you will help them step on the path of obedience, they will end up in the right place later. Roads determine destinations.

You may be miles from home, and you may not be able to see it from here, but if you will step on the right road, you can be confident that you will end up at the right place. Choose the right path today so you will arrive at the right destination later!

“Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.”
