Southwest Youth Challenge
A summer-long contest among local church youth groups in the Southwest. The friendly competition among sister churches encourages teens to stay active in their youth groups throughout the summer. We are ready to see what the teenagers of the Southwest can do for the Lord this summer! In ten years of the Challenge, teenagers from the churches involved have brought 1,973 visitors to church, distributed 70,100 gospel tracts, and memorized 43,900 Bible verses along with becoming more faithful to attend church and read their Bibles. Whether you are in Arizona or not, join us!
2020 Southwest Youth Challenge Information
Winners: Congratulations to Open Door Baptist Church of Catalina, AZ, Royal View Baptist Church of Gilbert, AZ, and Buckeye Baptist Church of Buckeye, AZ who finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, in the 2020 Challenge!
Dates: June 7- July 18
Must enter by: May 22 – Contact us at westbranch@billriceranch.org to let us know.
Fee: $75* per church due by June 4. * Trailblazer churches pay only $60 per church.
Open to: Fundamental, like-minded churches in the West
Ages: Generally includes junior and high school age young people. Contact us about special situations. Youth pastors and leaders can motivate but may not contribute points for their groups.
Categories Judged: Church/activity attendance, Visitors brought to church, Scripture memory, Scripture reading from a designated schedule, Gospel tract distribution
Prizes: 1st prize is $400 for your youth group. Motivate your youth by announcing how you would use the money. A special activity or trip? New equipment for the youth room? Maybe a complete youth room makeover! 2nd Prize receives $150. 3rd Prize: $100. There are additional prizes including t-shirts, gift cards, games, and cash for bonus weeks and the 2-week Individual Challenge within the Challenge.
