I Corinthians 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Last time, we saw that God is faithful. Unlike things (infomercials, Wal-Mart trips) and people, God will not disappoint. He never acts out of character. Specifically, God is faithful to forgive. He is the One who guarantees that I am blameless! What else is God faithful to do?

Verse 9 says, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” God is faithful to give fellowship. I John chapter 1 tells us that we can have fellowship with God if we “walk in the light, as he [God] is in the light. . . .” (I John 1:7) The next verse in I John 1 says,”If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” God is faithful to give fellowship to those who are “in the light” (clean of sin; no darkness at all).

What a wonderful privilege we have to have fellowship with God. He is faithful and long-suffering. God’s fellowship is not carnal or fleshly. “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Do you have fellowship with God today? If so, aren’t you grateful for His faithful fellowship? If not, why not “come clean” with Him (I John 1:9) right now so you can enjoy fellowship with Him?
