Luke 7:15 “And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.”

Never Too Late

Nothing is more final than a man’s last breath. That is why we can spend so much money to add as many breaths as possible. In Luke chapter 7, the Lord Jesus met a funeral procession that would become like no other! A widow’s only son lay dead in a casket, yet the Lord said simply, “Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.” The Bible records for us that “he that was dead sat up, and began to speak.”

Though nothing is more final than your last breath, it is never too late for help or hope when God is involved. That is a cause for comfort this morning. I don’t know what your needs are, but we serve a Lord who can raise dead men to life. The kindest words in Luke 7 are the two words Jesus spoke to this widow lady whose world had come crashing down. He said, “Weep not.” Those are powerful words when they come from the Creator of the Universe! Whatever you face today, God is up to the task. It is never too late when God is involved!

Because it is never too late, it should give us cause for action and optimism. There is no power in heaven or earth that can stand when God is involved. He visited this grieving widow lady in the book of Luke, and we need the Lord to “visit” us today. Why not invite and involve the Lord in what you have before you this day? Never give up because it is never too late!
