Revelation 19:2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

Have you ever wondered if God was making the right decision about you? Have you ever wondered if He had your best interest in mind, or if He was doing the right thing? God is Judge. It is not just that God is a judge or even the judge. In the absolute sense “God is Judge.” He is the Creator. Being Judge means not just meting out punishment, but also recognizing righteousness. It is a matter of discernment, determining between right and wrong. The same God that recognizes good, judges evil. How can one who will not judge evil recognize good?
The Bible says that God is not unrighteous to forget our labor of love, nor is He weak to overlook sin. Revelation 16:5 says, “Thou art righteous, O LORD, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.” In other words, God’s judging of sin is because He is righteous and just. Again, Revelation 16:7 says, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.”
You find this same idea later on. The Bible talks about God’s judgment in chapter 17. Then, chapter 19 starts off, “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God. For true and righteous are his judgments.” So, God’s judgments or decisions are righteous and they are true.
If God’s ultimate judgment of the whole world at the end of all time is good and just, all His decisions leading up to that time are just, as well. If God won’t do right by you, He has no right to judge the universe under the weight of all time. But since He is fit to judge the entire universe well, He is worthy to guide you. That doesn’t mean a life of no problems, but it means there is a God Who is right and will do right.
He is right to avenge wrong. Revelation 19:20 indicates that. He will right the wrong and will also acknowledge righteousness. Revelation 19:7 says, “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him… for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” That is, God will avenge wrong and acknowledge right. Really, the righteousness that makes anyone fit for Heaven is nothing less than God’s own righteousness that He imputes to those who come to Him by faith in the Lord Jesus.
Can you trust God to decide right for you today? You most certainly can trust Him because this God Who judges the universe in all eternity can certainly make the right decision and be discerning about your life and situation today.
