Degrees

Bill Rice Bible College offers several programs of study. Each program is designed to prepare young people to face the future no matter where God leads them.

Programs of Study

Certificate of Bible

(One-Year)
The one-year Certificate of Bible is perfect for young people who are seeking God’s direction for their lives. Classes include surveys of the Old and New Testaments as well as general education courses like English Grammar. After spending a year studying the Bible and serving in ministry, students will have a better understanding of God’s will for their lives.

Old Testament Survey

An introduction to the Old Testament focusing on Creation, covenant, the unfolding story of salvation, the Messiah, Israel’s history, and Israel’s unique relationship with Jehovah both past and future. Key figures, events, dates, and locations are covered.

New Testament Survey

An introduction to the New Testament, focusing on specific passages and examining both their correct interpretations as well as common misinterpretations. An explanation of the major themes, purposes, and contents of the books of the New Testament is provided.

English Grammar

This course teaches the basics of English including capitalization, punctuation, subject-verb agreement, parts of speech, and correct grammar usage. A semester-long journal project introduces the student to basic concepts of writing. This is the prerequisite course to English Composition.

Bible Doctrines

Explores nine major Bible doctrines (Part 1: Bibliology, Theology Proper, Anthropology/Hamartiology, Ecclesiology; Part 2: Pneumatology, Christology, Soteriology, Eschatology) by examining relevant scripture passages, presenting the scriptural analysis and explanation of those passages, and critically evaluating false views where necessary.

Camp Philosophy

Learn the whys and hows of ministry with classroom sessions covering “The Importance of Preaching,” “The Evangelist,” “Authority and Discipline,” and “Presenting the Gospel Clearly.” Students get how-to training through retreats, regular assignments, and church-related ministry opportunities.

Associate of Christian Studies

(Two-Year)
The Associate of Christian Studies takes a young person’s education to the next level. Moving beyond survey classes, students get in-depth study of individual books of the Bible. Classes that trace religious movements of the twentieth century and that examine current issues of our culture further prepare students to engage their world.

Basics of Logic

Discover common logical fallacies in everyday conversation, news articles, and advertisements through this fascinating class. Classroom discussions revolve around how to recognize and refute bad reasoning.

Issues: Answers and Ethics

This course surveys current cultural trends including abortion, the death penalty, gay marriage, gender, social media, and government. Emphasis is given to developing a Christian worldview and evaluating cultural trends in light of the Bible’s teaching.

Book of Acts

An exposition of the Book of Acts, highlighting the birth of Christianity and its subsequent growth. The class emphasizes Paul’s ministry, the inclusion of Gentiles into God’s plan, and a proper understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

Bachelor of Biblical Studies

The Bachelor of Biblical Studies is designed for Christian young people who want to serve the Lord effectively as a lay-person or in full-time ministry. The primary focus of the program is the Bible, but includes courses in history, Bible study methods, lesson preparation, and contemporary issues.

NOTE: Students may choose a General Studies Major which lacks Biblical Greek and Homiletics.

Bachelor of Christian Education

Students who graduate with the Bachelor of Christian Education will be fully equipped to teach in a private Christian school. Education courses cover a variety of subjects and practical topics. Not only will students learn the techniques of effective teaching, but they will also put those techniques to work in a Christian school as part of their required internship.

Students in a four-year program can choose packages of electives focused in a particular area of study.
