Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

What Moves God

It’s quiz time! What word do you associate with the names George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and Bill Gates? You probably said president, honesty, cars, light bulbs, and Microsoft.

What do you associate with Abraham, Noah, Moses, and Samson? You probably said father, ark, leader, and strength. Isn’t that interesting? Everything you said described what they accomplished!

What do you think God notices about people? What would it take to impress the God Who spoke the world into existence? I’ll give you a hint: it is not going to be anything you accomplish. We see Microsoft, light bulbs, and a boat; God sees our faith.

God is not moved by what we do; He is moved by Whom we trust. Men see what I accomplish; God sees Who I trust. If you accomplish all kinds of things, but in doing so you leave God out of them, God is not impressed. Hebrews chapter 11 is full of people who accomplished great things, but they accomplished them all by trusting God.

As you focus on what you want to accomplish today, begin by focusing on Whom you are trusting. By trusting God and living by faith, you will accomplish what only He can do and please the only One who truly matters. People see what you do; God sees Who you trust.
